Running Pace Calculator (Min/km, km/h, Splits & Target Times)
Enter distance + time (or pace) and get pace per km & mile, speed, splits and forecasts for 5K/10K/HM/Marathon.
Note: Results are mathematically correct, but training and competition performance depend on terrain, weather, elevation profile, and daily form.

Explanation & Value
This running pace calculator helps you translate speed and time cleanly β without Excel, without an app, directly on your website. You can either enter distance + time and get the pace (minutes per kilometer or per mile) as well as the speed (km/h or mph). Or you can go the other way: You specify a pace and have the appropriate target time calculated for a distance. This is super practical for training plans, race goals, or if you want to know if your "I run a 5:15 pace" really fits a sub-53-minute 10K time.
The calculator also delivers target times for standard distances (5K, 10K, Half Marathon, Marathon) based on the same average pace. This is not a magical performance model, but a very good "reality check": If your 10K pace is stable, you can immediately see what marathon time would result mathematically. For real predictions, factors like endurance, long runs, nutrition, course profile, and weather naturally play a major role β that's why the calculator is consciously transparent and sticks to clear mathematics.
It gets really useful with the Splits: You can display even intermediate times per km/mile (or in 0.5 or 2 unit steps). This makes it easy to create a pace plan for the race or to run controlled in training. You see not only the intermediate time but also the remaining time β ideal for quickly checking in your head if you are "on plan". Optionally, you can also round the output to seconds (or 5/10 seconds) so the splits are easier to hit on your watch.
For a quick setup, there are quick buttons for 5K/10K/HM/Marathon. The unit (km or miles) can be switched; the display adapts automatically (including alternative pace in the respective other unit). You can also copy the results with a click and, for example, transfer them to a note, a training plan, or a WhatsApp message. Everything runs locally in the browser β without tracking, without external libraries β and is therefore fast, data-saving, and Elementor-friendly.
Tip: If you want to optimize your race pace, plan not only "evenly" but also try negative splits (second half slightly faster). Use the splits as a starting point and shift the first few kilometers back by a few seconds. This way you start controlled, avoid overpacing, and keep more reserves at the end.
FAQ
What exactly is Pace?
Pace is the time per distance, usually minutes per kilometer (min/km) or minutes per mile (min/mi). Lower = faster.
Why does the calculator also show km/h?
km/h is an alternative view of speed. Many treadmills and some training plans prefer working with speed rather than pace.
How accurate are the target times for Marathon & Half Marathon?
They are mathematically derived from your average pace. For real predictions, endurance, training volume, nutrition, elevation gain, and race dynamics count.
Which unit should I use: km or miles?
In most of the world, km is standard. If you train according to imperial plans or compare US races, miles are useful.
What does "Round to 5 seconds" mean?
Splits will be rounded to smooth second values so you can hit them easier on your watch. The deviation is small, but usability increases.
Can I also turn off splits?
Yes, select "off" at splits. Then the calculator remains maximally compact and shows only pace, speed, and target times.
Does this work on mobile too?
Yes. The design is responsive, cards stack vertically, and buttons/values remain easily operable.
Why is no data saved or sent?
The calculator runs completely in the browser (client-side). This ensures speed, data protection, and fewer dependencies.
